My wife and I along with our two dogs, recently returned from a 23 mile section of the 165 mile Tahoe Rim Trail. The section began at Kingsbury Grade, specifically, the Stagecoach lift at Heavenly and concluded at the Big Meadow Trailhead located on Hwy. 89 going up towards Luther Pass. It was incredible and beat us physically, my pack weighed in at a solid 40 lbs. The first day we trekked 9 miles to Star Lake and set up camp there for the night. On the second day, we pushed through the remaining 14 miles and my body feels like it. I can barely walk but it was definitely worth it.
