TWS: Wallpaper Wednesday - Rusty Ockenden

This Wednesday, Trasworld Snowboarding has another selection of fine photos for your desktop. Terren Gomez and myself, both South Lake locals, have a shot in there. Check 'em out HERE.

After thoughts: Rusty Ockenden is one of the raddest snow dudes I have met to date. I wish I would have gotten more time to simply hang with the dude. He's recently made the move to Rome Snowboards and I am happy that he will be in good hands over there.

TWS: Wallpaper Wednesday - Austen Sweetin

I cruised through Transworld Snowboarding's website today and noticed I had a photo in their Wallpaper Wednesday section. Pete Columbo and crew over at Sun Valley in Idaho constructed this behemoth. The riders were definitely nervous about this one and youngblood Austen Sweetin guinea pig'd it solo style and walked away with this frontside 3.

TWS: Photo Annual 2011

The new TWS Photo Annual 2011 is beautiful...I feel lucky to have a photo in there. Frode Sandbech has a photo of Pat Moore that I want on on my wall, the shit is so beautiful. Go get through mag at TWS or Zinio.

This shot is of Niko Cioffi and was taken in Helsinki, Finland on what happened to be one of the coldest nights we had out there. I struggled with the angle at this location and after having to move around quite a bit, I grabbed a step ladder and placed it in the middle of the road.  Lucky for me, the road wasn't very busy. I remember a mist in the air and wanted to backlight the feature. My assistant, Kyle McCoy, let me use his Elinchrom Ranger and colored gels to get the shot. I placed one small speedlight riders-right for fill. I gotta thank Kyle for being there, cause otherwise, this photo would have been totally different. A big thanks goes out to Pasi Salminen, Kyle McCoy, Kevin Keller and Niko Cioffi for putting in work on this photo.

Seattle native and Forum team rider Austen Sweetin recently bagged the highly-coveted cover of Snowboarder magazine, as well as a standout part in Forum's new movie. Since Sweetin's the new "It Boy" we decided to make him the guinea pig for our new weekly column, "Look Who's Calling," where we dial the numbers of random pro snowboarders and ask them questions about their moms.
